Bruiteur ? Foley artist ?
Bruiteur :
Le bruiteur est la personne chargée de créer les bruits qui n’ont pas été enregistrés au moment du tournage.
Son travail se réalise en général après le montage définitif de l’image, dans des auditoriums spécialisés, et équipés de différents sols, pour recréer les bruits de pas sur toutes les surfaces possibles ou d’autres accessoires.
Les bruiteurs recréent des sons concrets, à partir d’objets hétéroclites qu’ils possèdent et accumulent, ainsi qu’avec leur corps.

Foley artist :
The foley artist is the person in charge of creating sounds that were not recorded at the time of shooting.
Their work is usually carried out after the final editing of the image, in specialised auditoriums equipped with different floors to recreate the sounds of footsteps on all possible surfaces or other accessories.
The foley artist recreates concrete sounds, using heterogeneous objects that they possess and accumulate, as well as with their bodies.
Jack Donovan Foley (April 12, 1891 – November 9, 1967) was an American sound effects artist who was the developer of many sound effect techniques used in filmmaking. He is credited with developing a unique method for performing sound effects live and in synchrony with the picture during a film’s post-production. Accordingly, individuals engaged in this trade are called « Foley artists ».
